Balance always has to be restored in life, and in the past few days the energies have been very giving. Today is the day to redress the balance, to make payment for what you have received. –Mark Elmy

Toj Glyph: The glyph represents a wheel and its axis. It represents Grandfather Sun and his strength. It is a circle, symbolizing the law of cause and effect. –Carlos Barrios
Toj: A sign of harmony, balance, and equilibrium, Toj embodies not only the power, freedom, and inner peace that these states of grace carry, but also all of the struggles and challenges we go through to achieve and maintain them in our lives.
It is, in a word, the sign of karma, the sign of payment and the energy of the law of action and reaction that the concept of karma carries. It also represents offering, payment, fines, and debt. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
Today, the nawal of debts, reciprocity, and the sacred fire—Toj—burns in all directions with the shifting influence of Power 11. Symbolizing the Sun and the law of cause and effect, Toj illuminates our patterns of energetic exchange. 11's dynamic forces intensify this guidance through tests, payments, and complexity. Together, 11 Toj invites us to face and resolve debts along our path, offering opportunities to restore balance where it's needed most.
The transformative fires of Toj guide us in honoring the law of causality—giving and receiving. Shaped by the social and rebirthing themes of the Kawoq Trecena, 11 Toj invites order to exchanges and commitments enhancing the flow of energy within our interconnectedness. As Kawoq’s cycle nurtures the growth of mutual and collective abundance, this day encourages deeper listening to where adjustments, sacrifices, and offerings can bring better results and a sense of expansion.
While Toj offers its warmth, gently reminding us to live with gratitude to nurture our well-being, 11 adds layers of complexity, inviting necessary sacrifices and efforts. 11 Toj may surface discomfort or sorrow from the past, encouraging restoration and forgiveness. Today’s unpredictable nature can unfold in many ways—through blessings that nourish our growth or through challenges that call for mindful attention and care.
Traditionally, Toj days are times to give thanks, count our many blessings, and connect with Ajaw, Creator and Former. With the cleansing and renewing energies of Kawoq, 11 Toj offers a potent opportunity for renewal—inviting us to give back in gratitude for the comforts we enjoy, to bring darkness into light, and through deeper listening, to patiently and conscientiously clear obstacles from our path.

Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
11 Toj
After the empowerment of 9 Kej and the abundance of 10 Q’anil, the energy of the day 11 Toj gives us the opportunity to pay our way. Whilst we might make beautiful, colorful, lengthy ceremonies here, it doesn’t have to be like that. Just lighting a little candle and saying thank you can be enough to keep in balance. It may be that payment goes out in many directions today, in one way or another. There are two ways of approaching it, either you can wait for old debts to find you, or you can take a proactive approach and make an effort to find and resolve them.
Today you might find a few more than you bargained for, and some that you had forgotten. Hopefully you received enough abundance on 10 Q’anil to give some back, if not, the energy of 11 Toj may bring you a reminder. –Mark Elmy
11 Toj
One of the most beautiful things we can offer the world is what we become when we do the real inner work. The energies that accompany us today remind us of the importance of learning to inhabit discomfort as an essential part of our growth process. They invite us to connect with sacredness from a place of honesty and depth. This trecena speaks to us about our interactions and our relationship with what surrounds us as a space for learning.
The teaching of this day invites us to ask ourselves whether we are truly going to the most profound places on our path of expansion. We are living in a time where spiritual growth sometimes looks like going to a cacao circle, walking in nature, doing a workshop, and sharing it all on social media to show that we are always in a positive and elevated state.
And while these practices, sharings, and medicines are beautiful, sacred, and valuable, they are truly powerful when they bring us inward, to the most profound spaces, when they lead us to do the kind of work that takes courage, for it is not always comfortable or something we can share online.
When we choose to connect with that sacred space that not only sees our light but also honors our anger, our fear, our shadows, what we have not yet resolved, our limitations and imperfections, our humanity, then we touch what is essential. Let us take some time today to observe whether we are truly doing that work or whether we are evading it. Let us do so with sincerity, remembering that we do not need to prove anything to anyone, only to ourselves. –Denise Barrios
✍🏼 Journal Prompts of the Day:
In the midst of complexity and unpredictability, how can I listen more deeply, discerning the adjustments or offerings needed for renewal and growth?
What sacrifices or efforts might be called for today to support the greater good, and how can I approach them with patience and mindful presence?
Loved today's reading! Many good gems. Among one of them...."The energies that accompany us today remind us of the importance of learning to inhabit discomfort as an essential part of our growth process.." This is similar to the thought that living in accordance with your Dharma is initially very painful. A beautiful analogy to this is in Hindu mythology and the story of the gods "churning the ocean." so that they could get to the ambrosia, or the sweet nectar (amrita), of immortality found at the bottom of the ocean. so, they start churning the ocean and the first thing that comes up is poison. The churning of the ocean is interpreted as a metaphor for introspection and the journey of self-discovery. If you want to get to the light, there is going to be poison in the middle. The ocean represents the human mind and heart, filled with both positive and negative tendencies, encouraging us to examine our own thoughts and actions as part of our growth process. thank you for your post!
