Diana’s Observations:
Today’s nawal of the seed and its harvest shines its golden light on intentions and their subsequent harvest. This day invites us to reflect on results, not only as individuals but as a cohesive community, highlighting the importance of family, friendship, and cultural influences in our growth journey.
Q’anil embodies the earthy, practical process of development—from inception to fruition. Power 12 synthesizes our individual and shared experiences, igniting new possibilities and understanding through grouping and gathering. While today may give us reason to celebrate the regenerative and abundant qualities of life, it also offers insights into what may be scarce or lacking in our lives. The teachings of 12 Q’anil remind us that what we plant, nurture, and cultivate directly influences our harvest.
Positioned within the Trecena of No’j, today underscores the importance of the seed of thought. It serves as a reminder that the health of our metaphorical gardens is a direct reflection of how we perceive, think, and act from the deepest corners of our psyche. This days calls us to recognize the futility of complaints or feelings of victimization regarding unsatisfactory outcomes if we have not taken the necessary steps to mature our aspirations.
The No’j Trecena has been instrumental in shaping our ideas, plans, lessons, and intellect into actionable solutions. Today invites us to balance our actions with the clarity we’ve gained throughout this 13-day cycle. Both No’j and 12 encourage us to reach out to our community for support, unifying ideas and perspectives in order to improve our results where necessary.
Q’anil radiates a positive, golden energy that empowers us to unify our ideas and intentions, paving the way for the realization of our plans and solutions. This empowerment sets the stage for tomorrow’s 13 Toj, a day dedicated to giving thanks and making our offerings to the spiritual fire of this Trecena.
May we wholeheartedly embrace our self-responsibility, creating opportunities today to express gratitude tomorrow, as we acknowledge the insights and completions inspired by the enlightening guidance of No’j.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
12 Q’anil
Q’anil days are nearly always favorable, they often carry a light and happy energy, and quite rightly so. They represent the ripening, the point where all the hard work comes to fruition. They are days of abundance, of light and eventually celebration too.Today Q’anil is combined with the number 12, the energy of bundling, of gathering things together.
This is certainly a day to complete any outstanding business, even if it has been waiting a long time, as it should produce beneficial and abundant results.
Perhaps it has been waiting for the sufficient life experience required to bring it to full fruition and today could be the day when it finally arrived. –Mark Elmy
12 Q’anil
Let us not forget that we are a seed that holds within it all the necessary elements to reach fulfillment.Q’anil, the energy of nurturing and growth, embodies the potential within each of us to transform and thrive. It symbolizes the seed of life, representing the ideas and dreams we plant within our hearts.
With care and intention, these seeds germinate and flourish, manifesting into reality through our actions and dedication, as every thought and every deed is a seed we plant in the fertile soil of our lives.
The number Kab’lajuj brings a creative force that empowers us to realize our dreams. In the presence of Kab’lajuj Q’anil, we are reminded that we are creating all the time; we are divine creators by nature, and it is our birthright to envision and manifest a life of abundance and fulfillment.
We are called to think expansively, to embrace our journey of continuous creation and growth, and to remember that change begins within us. Let us not forget that as we plow our inner landscape, we are preparing the soil for a life of growth and fulfillment. –Denise Barrios
Rabbit Spirit Animal:

Tochtli means rabbit and is the day in the Aztec calendar associated with the goddess Mayahuel the goddess of fertility, the womb, and maguey plant - used to brew alcoholic pulque drink.
Tochtli is mystical and communicates with nature. The rabbit was one of the most favored creatures of the Aztecs for hunting. It was identified with Chichimecs, the hunter-gatherers, and Mixcoatl, the god of the hunt. The rabbit was also an ancient Mesoamerican symbol for the moon.
Reflecting on Tochtli and its symbolism offers a window into an ancient philosophy where the cycles of the moon, the earth’s bounty, and human existence were inextricably linked, teaching us the value the Aztecs placed on harmony with the cosmos and the deep reverence for life’s generative forces.
Tochtli embodies the profound interplay between the Aztec cosmic understanding and their everyday life, capturing the essence of fertility, the sacredness of the natural world, and the nuanced role of divinity.
What challenges or areas of scarcity can I acknowledge, and how can they inform my growth moving forward? How can I recognize and celebrate the achievements and successes that have emerged from recent efforts?
Diana, thank you for these daily readings. I find them inspiring.
