K’at Glyph: The glyph signifies the energy of gravity. It is represented by the sphere, trapped in the groove at the bottom, which divides the base into the two magnetic poles. –Carlos Barrios
K’at: Within its vast body of meaning, K’at signifies the Net, in all of the diversity of senses of the word: a fisherman’s net, a woven net of fruits or vegetables, a network, a spider’s web.
In addition, it is the patron of storerooms and pantries and refers to the gathering of resources; and finally, it carries the concepts of captivity, punishment, social traps, and lawsuits.
K’at is the nawal of fire, namely that which keeps a home running, and of prisons both visible and invisible, material and intangible. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
K’at, nawal of the harvest net—accumulation and release—combines with the dualistic qualities of Power 2 today. Symbolizing unity, regeneration, and the gravity of obstacles, K’at’s nature holds both gathering and surrender as vital forces for growth. With the influence of 2 interwoven, themes of attachment and letting go naturally rise to the surface. On 2 K’at, we’re invited to reflect on what we have gathered, the weight of commitments, and what we cling to, discerning what is ripe and ready to release or surrender in sacrifice.
As we step into the shifting contrasts and emerging possibilities of the Aq’ab’al Trecena, 2 K’at invites us to sense the delicate balance between burden and ease. Within Aq’ab’al’s transitional space, 2 K’at weaves opportunities and challenges from the threads of our recent choices and new potentials now beginning to surface. In this balanced meeting, 2 K’at calls us to honor pauses as much as advances—encouraging thoughtful reflection on what’s essential, while considering which commitments, decisions, or burdens may need to be reevaluated or organized for fresh movement to naturally set in.
Aq’ab’al and 2 both embody the dance of polarity—dark and light, cold and hot, receptive and active. Their essence reminds us that challenge and opportunity mingle in subtle ways, gently guiding our discernment as we navigate between reaction and response. With K’at’s guidance, there is special energetic support for disentangling and releasing excess weight, whether vast or minute.
Today’s attachments and choices may emerge internally, at work, or within relationships, inviting us to notice where our energy is genuinely well invested and where we may be enmeshed in physical burdens or belief systems that aren’t ours. As 2 K’at urges us to feel into both what we attract and what needs careful attention, the day calls for prudent stewardship of our resources and mindful separation from entanglements—all while uniting and aligning with what feels regenerative, optimistic, and abundant.

Lizard Spirit Animal:
The Lizard held a significant symbolic place in the spiritual landscape of ancient Central American civilizations, largely due to its affinity for warm stones and sun-drenched environments. As a creature of the earth that frequently basks in solar warmth, the lizard became a representation of vitality, regeneration, and the life-giving power of the Sun.
Its ability to seemingly detach from its environment and its rapid movements connected it to concepts of elusiveness and the subconscious mind, often appearing in visions or dreams. Lizards were also admired for their quickness and adaptability, symbolizing the ability to drop old habits and literally “shed” the past to survive.
One can invoke the spirit of the Lizard to engage in healing by consciously shedding emotional or mental “skins” that no longer serve, and to enhance the ability to discern and interpret the often-elusive messages found in dreamscapes and non-ordinary reality.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
2 K’at
Whilst all the energies of the days have both beneficial and challenging aspects, K’at can be particularly extreme. The number 2 is said to represent duality and polarity, and here we see it combined with those aspects of K’at.The number 2 is also said to represent lovers, relationships and self sacrifice, and it is those areas that the energy of K’at which may be highlighted today. This may be a day to look at the sacrifices you make in life and what they represent to you.
With the dualistic aspects of the energy of the number 2, we also get to see from opposing points of view. The nawal K’at helps us to gather these different points of view, which can give a more rounded idea of situations, which may in turn result in abundance and sustenance for all involved.
As we move through the trecena of Aq’ab’al, which does have its romantic aspects, this could be a day to focus on your lover and to truly hold them close. Alternatively, if you are looking for a new love, this might be a good day to see who you are drawn to and who is drawn to you. –Mark Elmy
2 K’at
Sometimes the most important step we take is knowing when to stop.Today we are under the energetic convergence of Keb’ K’at, which symbolizes the ties of all that limits us, yet at the same time gives us the strength and wisdom to release the knots that contain us. The trecena of Aq’ab’al reminds us of the importance of living in the present, walking calmly, and recognizing the opportunities that can arise even from the darkness.
In these times when the world moves so quickly, when it seems there is no longer room to pause and feel the power of each moment, the energies remind us of the importance of giving time to things and not forcing the rhythm. They invite us not to rush our processes, not to feel that we must skip lessons or appear to be always well, always perfect.
It is about embracing the path itself, because it is there that we find the deepest learnings of life. Only when we move slowly and allow ourselves to live what we are meant to live can we begin to untie the knots of our reality. –Denise Barrios
