3 Aq'ab'al: Internal Renewal & Emerging Clarity
Energy of the Day for May 10, 2025
With 1 Imox, we had the seed of the new dream. It was pure potential without direction. Then 2 Iq’ breathed life into the potential, the first moment of creation through the word. In 3 Aq’ab’al, we see the results of the energies of the previous two days. This could be a new concept. -Mark Elmy

Aq’ab’al: This is the day to ask for clarification regarding our path, to ask for fresh opportunities, to renew our life, to achieve clarity, to bring light into darkness, and to reveal mysteries. It is a good day to ask for stability and to find a good job. – Carlos Barrios
Diana’s Observations:
Aq’ab’al, the nawal of dusk and dawn, dark and light, reveals its first rays within the internal domains of Power 3–the mind and the home. This day of duality and polarity alchemizes within the psyche, guided and blended by the mental and conceptual currents of the Imox Trecena.
While 3 may surface doubt and insecurity, Aq’ab’al encourages rest and replenishment, allowing us to adapt to challenges, recharge motivation, and develop new strategies. It calls for receptivity to new information before making decisive moves. On a practical level, its energy supports organization and renewal, especially within the home and our personal spaces.
Associated with caverns, Aq’ab’al leads us into the obscure, liminal spaces of consciousness-the dark caves of our unrealized potentials. Power 3 is sometimes linked to the uterus, and with Imox embodying the fertile psychic womb from which all thought and ideas emerge, this marks a special day for intentional internal silence and receptivity to our inner worlds. Through this incubative process, we may glimpse hidden qualities and possibilities within us, ready to come to light.
3 Aq’ab’al may also reveal consequences–the product of how we meet or have met duality, from subtle doubts to intense internal battles. As we form clarity through gentle self-renewal, this day can begin to materialize the fruits of our efforts or spark a sense of rebirth in manifesting our visions and goals. Adaptation is key today.
The day’s digestive qualities encourage surrender and a gentle approach to internal transmutation, focusing our visualization and intent on illuminating aspects of self and circumstance that need clarity and meaningful change.

Bat Spirit Animal:
Bat connotes both death and birth together, which are among our most profoundly mystical concepts. It is one of the great shamanic initiation rights to understand the death and birth principal.
So deeply does it need to be understood that it is learned either through ceremonial ritual or unexpected authentic near-death experiences. But just because bat carries an ostensibly extreme implication does not mean that if you receive bat medicine you are in for such a harsh experience.
Rebirth happens gently every morning when you wake or unexpectedly when emerging from an icy river dip. Rebirth occurs when you become a parent or by having an epiphany.
If bat medicine has found you, surrender, welcome your new self to the world, and allow yourself to grieve the part you left behind. -Brynja Magnusson
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
3 Aq’ab’al
Look for the new light, the new concept within. This is, after all, what could be considered to be the dawn of creation.
In these early moments, things are still hidden in the darkness. A possible phrase to associate with this day could be “false dawn”. You may think you can see the first light of the sun, but it may turn out to be the light of Venus. This is a day when things might not quite be what they seem. If you are waiting to start something, it is not quite the time.
You might be ready to go, only to be confronted by an unexpected challenge. Proceed with caution, or wait for a more conducive day.On a more positive note, the 3 could represent the home. In order to direct your energy in the most constructive way. Planning a new project around your home may be a beneficial way to spend the day. –Mark Elmy
3 Aq’ab’al
Our journey of healing begins when we can be honest with ourselves.Aq’ab’al, the energy of light that dispels darkness, reminds us today that to reach our dawn, to awaken, we must embrace self-honesty, observing what we feel and experience in this moment.
This energy invites us to embark on a journey within every aspect that shapes us, to understand the messages of our being, to sense how we are inhabiting this present, and to recognize what we truly want.
Aq’ab’al balances light and shadow and reminds us that we also hold both energies within us. Today is a good time to observe ourselves in our entirety, recognizing and accepting every part of who we are with unconditional acceptance, knowing that each aspect is an essential part of us. –Denise Barrios
