Aq’ab’al Glyph: The glyph signifies the owl and represents the light and dark at the same time. The two circumferences at the top represent the energy of creation, and the dots below represent receptive energy. –Carlos Barrios
Aq’ab’al symbolizes both darkness and dawn, those magical times of the day when Night cedes to Day and Day gives way to Night. These are periods of transition, of grace, of potential–and polarity, which Aq’ab’al naturally embodies. It is light and dark, heat and cold, opposing sides and opposite energies.
Aq’ab’al embodies the essence of the love between a man and a woman, of marriage, romance and all matters of physical, spiritual, and emotional love. It also signifies harmony, truth, hope and solemnity; awakening and enchantment; mystery and devotion. It is the nawal of clarity and light, a force of renewal, and helps us gain illumination into the issues that impact our lives. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
As we approach the midpoint of the Tijax Trecena, today’s nawal of all polarity emerges, embodying the delicate balance between night and day, the enchanting beauty of twilight, and the cyclical dance of past, present, and future. This moment invites us into a space of integration, hope, and renewal.
6 Aq’ab’al empowers us to embrace and embody polarity within our lives—acknowledging both shadow and light, masculine and feminine, receptive and active, as they work in harmonious symphony. Today calls us to reflect upon the lessons of our past, savor the richness of the present, and thoughtfully plan for our future.
This day is imbued with the potential for restoration and rebalancing, inviting us to treat ourselves with gentleness and care. As Aq’ab’al governs our digestive system—including the profound intelligence of the liver—today is particularly auspicious for conscious eating, detoxification, fasting, and refining our habits to experience Aq’ab’al’s youthful vitality in our bodies.
On the White Road, it’s no coincidence that this transitory and renewing force coincides with the Winter Solstice, where the sun of 2024 meets its twilight to be reborn anew. In our conscious navigation of time, today’s placement of 6 Aq’ab’al within the Winter Solstice speaks volumes about balancing polarities in our lives—infusing us with hope and guiding our youth into maturity.
Aq’ab’al’s harmonization of polarity and renewal today is woven into the fabric of our bodies, finances, families, and relationships (6)—bringing wholeness to dichotomies. By integrating these polarities, we honor life’s movements and transformative processes.
During this Tijax Trecena, we embark on a divine quest to purify ourselves and unveil the truth of our being and circumstances. Aq’ab’al positions us at an auspicious juncture, inviting us to seek illumination on our path while remaining firmly grounded in reality, stabilizing our capacity to uncover hidden truths.
This day calls us to cultivate our inner light so that we may attract new opportunities for renewal, clarify what has been obscured, and invite stability and rebirth in our professional endeavors now and in the future.
May we embrace the dawn of clarity that arises from within as we navigate the intricate dance of duality, allowing it to guide us toward a deeper understanding of ourselves and a renewed commitment to living fully in each moment.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
6 Aq’ab’al
After the rather wavering energy of the last few days, today is a day where we might expect to see the emergence of a new and stable concept.Aq’ab’al days are generally seen as being fortunate days, days on which the new dawn occurs. They are a bridge between the dream world and the physical, calling the fleeting images from our dreams into our conscious minds so that we can begin to create concepts from them.
It is our bridge to the collective consciousness (seen in Imox), connecting the dreaming world and the waking world. It is the fertilized egg, newly implanted in the mother’s womb; it has passed from being the dream of a child in the parents’ mind into a physical presence, but is yet to emerge into the light of the physical world.
Through these images we understand the energy of Aq’ab’al days. They are days of new beginnings, where new concepts are brought into existence. They still need work to complete them, they need to be gestate, to be nurtured, before they can stand alone.
This is an excellent day to unveil your new project to the world, even if it is not fully finished yet. Time and nurture will help to complete the process, but even as a concept it is entirely possible to see its potential. –Mark Elmy
6 Aq’ab’al
Life is a constant movement, it is change and renewal. We only need to observe nature to know that it is in continuous transformation, it changes with each season, with each passing day, never a place is the same, nor a day is the same as the previous one, we can even say that our organism and our body, that we, are not what we were some time ago, and this constant evolution is part of the magic of life.
Today the energy of Aq’ab’al speaks to us precisely of opening the space for change. Aq’ab’al is the first ray of light in the darkness, the light that breaks monotony, that allows us to visualize new opportunities and teaches us that renewal and change are an essential part of our life.
On this day, the light of Aq’ab’al, which converges with the number Waqib’ (6), allows us to recognize that which stagnates us and in which we must work in order to grow.
This energetic combination tells us that the perfect time to realize our dreams is now, that we should not wait for a sign, for certain circumstances to arise, or for someone to do something to change things, for the time to act our transformation is the present moment. –Denise Barrios
Bat Spirit Animal:
“Changes”, “Navigating Darkness”, “Endings & Beginnings” “Acute Powers of Perception”
In many cultures bats are seen as guardians of the night, symbolizing the delicate balance between the seen and unseen realms. They teach us how to sense our environment and embrace all that life has to offer, reminding us that true understanding often arises from navigating the shadows.
While bats are often associated with death and the underworld due to their nocturnal nature, they also signify renewal and new beginnings, as they emerge from the protective womb of the Earth, symbolizing rebirth and the potential for growth.
In shamanic traditions, bat medicine is closely linked to the shaman's ability to traverse between worlds, representing both endings and beginnings. This duality encourages us to trust our psychic gifts and cultivate confidence in our intuition.
The bat's ability to navigate through darkness using echolocation serves as a powerful metaphor for our own journeys through uncertainty.
In what ways can I actively cultivate balance, renewal, and radiance in my life today? How is my body communicating its needs and guiding me toward renewal? What meaningful transitions is the Winter Solstice illuminating for me, and how are they manifesting in my life?
Wow shadow themes on point today on Substack! I also just recorded ‘The Batman’ last night and watched it this afternoon 🦇 Even the word ‘Renewal’ is important in that one 😆
Happy Winter Solstice, Diana!
