Kan: For the Maya, the Feathered Serpent embodies the very energy of life, koyopa, energy in its purest and simplest form, that can be neither judged nor denied. This is the energy that guides, that fulfills, that changes, mutates, and evolves all that it touches. This is the energy embodied within the stars of which all things are made, the DNA of existence and consciousness. All of us carry this sacred energy deep within, for that is what we are made of. Yet we spend our lives denying, ignoring, or living in fear of it. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
Today, Kan, the nawal of evolution and life force, tests the structures of Power 6. Embodying deep wisdom, intensity, and passion, Kan drives transformation through upheaval and peace, unraveling necessary change or reorientation. Paired with 6, this day marks a transcendent movement through resistance, opening opportunities to shed old identities that block progress, especially in worldly matters. 6 Kan signifies evolving power by overcoming resistance.
Kan’s force pierces themes of family, lineage, autonomy, vocation, trade, and projects today, revealing what we’ve outgrown and must shed to move forward. At the heart of the heroic, solar Ajpu Trecena, this day highlights the transmutative internal fire coiled at the spine’s base. Transforming knowledge into wisdom, 6 Kan may bring tests to overcome stagnation through heightened awareness and expression of our inner sun—strength, creative magic, and vitality.
6 Kan supports igniting our inner sun through mind-body practices like yoga, strength training, and breath work—powerful moves that enhance life force and deepen our connection to the body’s intelligence. Attuning to bodily signals and activating this inner fire is part of realizing the solar body within Ajpu’s teachings. It’s an auspicious day to purify our inner light, burning through uncertainty, fear, and doubt.
Collectively, 6 Kan can spark societal upheavals and transformations, reminding us that change is both a blessing and a challenge, depending on perspective. While humans often assign moral judgments to events, in the sacred realm things simply are. The ideal lies in achieving balance and unity. Signifying the power to see through illusion, Kan’s energy calls us to perceive matters without bias or judgment. Change may be unwelcome for some and a blessing for others, but all situations carry lessons that teach us to develop inner autonomy and authority, echoing Ajpu’s illuminating leadership.
Unfolding the transformation of time and space, Kan’s purpose is to maintain balance and coherence. By focusing on foundations, motives, and overcoming resistance, 6 Kan encourages measured action, refining perception through bodily cues, and mindful risk-taking on the path to achievement.

Snake Spirit Animal:
Serpent is a powerful emblem of life, change, and longevity. It is linked to the Earth’s raw, primal energy and the force of creation. Its closeness to the Earth reminds one to remain grounded while exploring spiritual pursuits.
When the serpent appears as a spirit animal, it signals a time to shed old, limiting beliefs and embrace the process of metamorphosis. This transformation begins when we are ready to release what holds us back, allowing us to grow both within and without.
The serpent embodies the duality of existence, representing both the challenges of transformation and the beauty of renewal.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
6 Kan
Today, the energies remind us that we can also choose to be grateful for the blessing that chaos can bring, for the detours that redirect us, for what scares us, and for what emerges or is blocked.Everything drives us to discover ourselves, recognize the power within us, and release both self-imposed and external limitations to embrace our divine essence and true purpose.
While Waqib’ [6] Kan acts as a mirror that allows us to see the uncomfortable aspects of our lives, the wisdom of its confluence with the trecena of Ajpu also reminds us that each situation is part of our evolutionary journey and that within ourselves we have everything needed to overcome challenges and emerge stronger. –Denise Barrios
6 Kan
Kan is a very strong nawal, it is the raw energy of the lightning and the power associated with that. It is the lightning in our blood, our life force energy. However, raw energy without direction can be destructive, and its strength may be too much for us to handle. It has the potential to be exactly the absolute power which corrupts absolutely. However, today we see it combined with the number of ultimate stability, the number 6. This gives us a chance to understand and harness the energy. Thus, we can truly use it to bring wisdom to our families and communities.
With the 6 connecting the four directions with the Hearts of the Earth and Sky, we have the potential to draw both power and wisdom from each of these points. We can do so in a balanced way, using it to bring harmony to the world around us.
Therefore, the on day 6 Kan we can draw on the energy from all directions to gain the wisdom to see through illusions of power, our own or those of others. –Mark Elmy
✍🏼 Journal Prompts of the Day:
What old identities, beliefs, or patterns am I ready to shed in order to evolve and move forward with greater power and clarity?
How can I deepen my connection to my inner life force and wisdom through mindful movement and body awareness?
How can I cultivate clear, non-judgmental perception, seeing change as a teacher guiding me toward balance and autonomy?
Dedicated Diva,
Thank you once again for your sacred and miraculous work you are providing for us all. I want to share an update. On 4 Aq'ab'al, my beloved Julia and I started working on cleaning up or rearranging our two fire pits in our back yard. During the process I uncovered a baby snake that was shedding it's skin, Juila thought it might be a copperhead, however not knowing for sure it did closed out the day for us. I want to highlight that since I have been connected to your sacred work, I have had big birds, a deer, a baby fox and now this baby snake come into my path which is wild to me. I feel a deeper connection with nature and I do not always see them as the enemy like I have been condition to be based on many movies. I could not help but think it was a sign from the universe. Since I knew nothing about the snake as a spirit animal I only had to wonder deep inside, until today. In reading the divine material you have most graciously been able to assemble, it has allowed me the opportunity to make the subtle moves needed for me to be able to enjoy my life better. In short, I had signed up for a Circadian rhythm workshop but had not had the time to check it out, however with the snake shedding it's skin I saw that as it was time to make that a priority. I am getting better clarity and more present in my environment. Oh yeah side not here, Julia saw four turtles today while going mushroom hunting with her dad, she said she has never had the happen and the last one she almost stepped on, so I will be waiting to see what you post about turtles next. But anyway, I wanted to thank you again for what you doing we are so grateful to have you here. Much love to you dear one!
