7 (Wuqub'): 7 symbolizes unity and neutrality. It is the middle number between 1 and 13, and hence a day of balanced energy.
If we arrange the numbers on a pyramid, in accordance with the 13 Heavens of ancient myth, 7 is the very apex of the pyramid.
Any day sign sequence beginning with 1 will end in a 7, this is why it is considered a symbol of endings. It is another representation of the change of state of the soul, showing half of the journey (1-6) in the mortal world and half (8-13) in the otherworld.
The number 7 represents the very center of human law and the laws of life: life has its ups and downs, its challenges and its pleasures.
It presents us with problems, difficulties and failures, but it also gives us solutions, opportunities and achievements.
From the point of view of the 7, everything is possible and everything is real.
7 is the number of balance, it gives the ability to weigh up situations and see all points of view.
With such a clear, 360-degree vision (on the pyramid’s apex), natives of this birth number will be able to see all sides of an issue and thus create new, harmonious solutions which resolve the seeming tension of the opposites.
But because all points of view seem equally valid to them, they avoid making decisions, thus appearing to withdraw from the scene when their energy is needed most.
Aj Glyph: The vertical lines or stalks at the top of the glyph that come only partway down signify spiritual growth. The horizontal line, symbolizing multiplication and the horizon, is an altar table, and the sacred trees, such as the ceiba and coral tree, with their roots, trunk, and canopy, also represent a table or altar.
Aj: Aj symbolizes the pillars of inner strength, it is the channel that connects us to the cosmos and the earth, which unites us with everything so that we flow in sync with life.
It is our spine, the structures of our body, of our home, it is the energetic foundations that sustain the essence of everything, that sustain creation and our reality. – Denise Barrios
”Aj cultivates the knowledge of human nature gained through joint, community work. It personifies integrity, honesty, and rectitude. It has the characteristics of cosmic expansion." –Carlos Barrios7 Aj
The nawal Aj has the energy of benevolent authority, which seeks to provide guidance and direction, or leadership, in order to ensure harmony within the home and community.Aj relates to the cane, or baston, of authority carried by the elders within the village. It is their job to guide the community in the correct direction through their wise counsel, although sometimes it is possible that they will need to exert their authority.
When respect is paid to Aj, and its guidance is adhered to, no further action is necessary. The energy of the number 7 gives the ability to see all points of view, and Aj gives the gentle, but firm, guidance.
It is a day to calmly seek the resolution of disputes, particularly within the home, by seeing all sides of the debate. The point to this is to bring peace and prosperity back to the community or home, the ultimate goal of Aj. If there is any conflict around you or in your life, today is a good day to seek mediation through an authority in order to reach a final resolution. –Mark Elmy
7 Aj
In these days in which the energies have led us to reflect on the importance of giving and receiving, Wuqub’ Aj, the Ch’umil that guides us to recognize the divinity in us, provides a good time to talk about how essential it is to give love to ourselves, to enter into unity with our being.
Let us remember that giving and receiving are elements of the same energy that together create a circle of connection and abundance. That one of the ways in which we give is by expanding our inner potential, for when something changes within us it can also influence our environment; our personal development becomes a gift for everyone.
Therefore, it is essential to observe if we are giving ourselves time each day to care for our whole being: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Let us notice if we are visiting the sacred space within us, if we are being intentional in providing for ourselves and from there, offering to others with respect.
Let us understand that it is not a matter of imposing or criticizing, but of sharing from an authentic place in which we are respectful each other’s processes, exercising our authority with integrity. –Denise Barrios
Armadillo Spirit Animal: “Establishing Boundaries”, “Digging for Truth”, “Helping others find their way.”
The bone and cartilage of the Armadillo act like an effective shield. As a result, it is no wonder this creature has strong ties to magic for protection and safety.
There are a variety of reasons to call upon Armadillo Animal guide as a Power Animal. Let’s start with your boundaries:
If you’re letting people walk all over you, it’s time to call on Armadillo and his armor. Once the threat is past, Armadillo indicates that all is clear, and you can unroll those tight defenses.
If you are uncertain about the areas in your life where you are most vulnerable, this is also a situation in which Armadillo helps greatly.
Reach out to him and begin ferreting out where you are weak or exposed.
This process can be quite enlightening and sometimes uncomfortable, but when you know your failings, your strengths become even more apparent.
Light workers tell us that Armadillo Energy corresponds to the Root Chakra.
As such, he is a great teacher for grounding and centering; this deters reactive tendencies and moves you into a more proactive mindset.

Diana’s Notes:
Often, I am shown through experiences of others how the Mayan Sacred Calendar is affecting people’s lives. Yesterday was one of those days.
I feel very blessed and grateful that the people around me are so open to share their life experiences with me, especially the most painful and conflictive ones. I learn so much from these conversations and interactions, especially in relation to the Cholq’ij.
My friend is going through a fierce challenge where he needs to make an important decision for his life with his love relationship, and this conversation (between him and his loved one) was to take place yesterday.
I’m observing today that this decision (7) carries the potential to end the relationship, and to bring some type of closure (also 7). And that this decision is based on the journey he is in through healing and therapy.
In short, a past version of himself made decisions that no longer feels aligned with the present version of himself (in therapy with renewed insights about himself) and the direction he is clearly headed in.
This is all relative to yesterday’s 6 E’ - E’ is about the road of life, the paths we choose to take towards our destiny. Today he might be seeing everything from the metaphorical apex of the pyramid - his entire journey leading up to where he is now.
And today’s Aj energy - related to the spine - influencing us to ‘do the right thing’ and tune into our gentle leadership skills to ensure harmony in the home, shows me yet another aspect of what he’s contending with in this decision – conscious and respectful of everything his partner is experiencing all while being true to himself and his needs.
Tuning into the energy of Aj, I see in him, the gentle authority he is accessing to establish firm boundaries and truth (armadillo), to find resolution all while seeing all points of view (7). He is practicing integrity and rectitude with himself through this process – strong characteristics of Aj.
Personally for me, through this interaction, I am receiving the insight Denise Barrios shares:
“…for when something changes within us it can also influence our environment; our personal development becomes a gift for everyone.”
Him sharing his healing and personal development process, became a gift for me in so many ways. Not only did it expand my vision of the function and sacred workings of the Cholq’ij, but it opened an opportunity for me to be in my full presence with him, test my listening skills, and inspire reflections of similar experiences I’ve had with past relationships and important decisions I’ve had to make there. All this and so much more.
This clearly illustrated the importance of community in my life and how we can learn so much from each other’s openness to share. It reminds me that wisdom is not found through studies but through lived experiences. A message I really needed at this time.
Where is my compassionate leadership skills needed at this time? How can I access guidance and direction to ensure harmony in my home and community?
