Ajmaq Glyph: The glyph signifies the mind in a state of forgiveness and illumination. It is a brain with rays, lines of expansion, reaching out in all directions. –Carlos Barrios
Ajmaq embodies our connection to the long history of life through evolution, through the millions of years that have elapsed and blessed our planet with the diversity of life we see today, and the sanctity of consciousness, free will, and love. Ajmaq also represents forgiveness, pardon, sin, and pleasure. It is the nawal of all faults and vices. But it also symbolizes gifts and Mother Earth, and is the nawal of the Earth itself. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
Ajmaq—nawal of introspection, absolution, and clarity—meets Power 7’s threshold of balance and closure today. Inviting curiosity, self-evaluation, and reconciliation, Ajmaq creates opportunities for inward peering and recognizing blindspots—within ourselves or others. Guided by 7’s integrative and reconciling forces, this day supports the journey from discord toward harmony, serving as a still point between endings and renewal. 7 Ajmaq calls us to pause, reflect, and illuminate what needs releasing, finding gentle restoration through the clarity and wisdom that emerges from within.
As a pivotal point within the Tz’i Trecena’s scales of justice, 7 Ajmaq invites us to awaken and refine our sense of personal authority. This can be a decisive moment—choosing whether to continue surrendering power to external forces or to trust the inner light that guides us toward clarity of heart. Today’s equilibrium offers precise insight, helping us see where emotional support is needed and where we possess the maturity to release dependence to external validation. Through reflection and internal dialogue, we clarify our sovereign compass, preparing to let go, redirect, and stand renewed at the juncture between endings and new possibilities in our spiritual development.
In business or personal life, Ajmaq calls for slow, thoughtful reflection on where relational blind spots may exist or where we drift from grounded reality. Traditionally, wisdom-keepers counsel moving gently on Ajmaq days: to avoid impulsive choices, and take time to pause, review, and make amends—even for small oversights. Ajmaq is known for exposing what we do not see and the pitfalls of acting without clarity; 7’s higher vista amplifies the value of observation and prudence in decision-making. Today especially, it is wiser to move with care, absorbing past mistakes, and addressing what weighs on the heart—clearing space for clarity, forgiveness, and lightness in our conscientious progress.

Bee Spirit Animal:
The Bee held a uniquely sacred and esteemed position in the ancient spiritual and economic life of Central American cultures, particularly those in the lowlands. The indigenous, stingless bee (Xunan Kab or “royal lady”) was tied to a major deity, the Descending God (Ah Muzen Cab), who symbolized abundance, the divine ordering of the world, and the life-giving process of pollination.
Bees represented community, hard work, and the precious reward of creation. The Yucatec calendar day Kib, meaning candle wax, provided the necessary light for rituals, connecting the bee’s production to both the sacred flame and the divine, particularly when the light of the moon and sun were absent.
One can invoke the energy of the Bee to increase productivity and prosperity through dedicated work, to find a sense of community and harmony in their collective endeavors, and to tap into clarity, the powerful flow of sweetness, and divine connection that nourishes both body and spirit.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
7 Ajmaq
Ajmaq highlights the power of redemption, the ability to be forgiven and to forgive, but is it done in totality, or is it just lip service to an idea. Can you really reset to neutrality, or will there always be something hanging around?Today gives us the opportunity to do just that, to finally forgive both others and ourselves. It is the day to let any harmful feelings go. This may not be easy, the number 7 is also said to represent the seven shames, and when in combination with Ajmaq may truly represent the greatest of affronts.
If there is a day to muster your energy, to take a deep breath and let go, this is it. After all we are within the trecena of Tz’i, the time to embrace the state of unconditional love and trust.
Let it go and enjoy the sweetness that returns. –Mark Elmy
7 Ajmaq
Wuqub’ Ajmaq reminds us of the importance of making space for our inner self, recognizing ourselves with honesty and without fear, and understanding the power that arises when we work on forgiveness and seek harmony within.Let us not forget that we are part of the fabric of existence. What we feel, what we judge or criticize in others, what we see in them or wish for them, we are also creating for ourselves. We cannot harm another without wounding ourselves in the process, but in the same way, the love, kindness, and empathy we offer also nourish us—we give them to ourselves as well.
May each day be a chance to deepen this awareness and walk in harmony with all that we are. –Denise Barrios
