Aq’abal is the renewing force, a break from routine, from monotomy; it represents letting go of the reins and heading in a new direction. All of us undergo chronological, cyclical, and individual changes in our lives that alter or transform our destiny. –Carlos Barrios
Diana’s Observations:
Today, Aq’ab’al’s first light of renewal and hope is channeled through the subtle, sensitive Power 9. Both 9 and Aq’ab’al bring change, inviting us to explore the deeper, hidden layers of our circumstances and relationships—whether blessings or challenges. This exploration marks the gestation of new possibilities, with 9 signaling new life emerging on the horizon.
The mystical 9 embodies a feminine, spiritual essence, inviting us to perceive the present and our pursuit towards fulfillment through wholeness within the cycles of life. Aq’ab’al expands this perception to encompass past and future, seen and unseen.
Guided by Tz’ikin’s influence, today may reveal a key to stability and fortune through insights that illuminate hidden corners of our consciousness. The polar nature of Aq’ab’al also offers opportunities to discern which sentiments to express and which to withhold with prudence today.
With its themes of fertility, revelation, and renewal, 9 Aq’ab’al amplifies the sacred vision and freedom unfolding in the Tz’ikin Trecena. This day strongly supports receptivity to profound insights, shaping our consciousness as a vessel for spiritual guidance and astute expression.
9 Aq’ab’al calls us to recognize insights arriving through dreams, conversations, or synchronicities, helping us cultivate the radiant light of spiritual knowing. It teaches there is a time to rest, observe and listen, and a time to communicate and act. Signifying emotional intelligence, hope, solutions, and youthfulness, 9 Aq’ab’al helps us cultivate transparency and artistry in communication, nurture wonder and wisdom in our hearts, and further illuminate our path of self-realization.

Bat Spirit Animal:
“Death and Birth”, “Potential”, “Epiphany”, “Courage to Face the Dark”
Bat connotes both death and birth together, which are among our most profoundly mystical concepts. It is one of the great shamanic initiation rights to understand the death and birth principal.
So deeply does it need to be understood that it is learned either through ceremonial ritual or unexpected authentic near-death experiences. But just because bat carries an ostensibly extreme implication does not mean that if you receive bat medicine you are in for such a harsh experience.
Rebirth happens gently every morning when you wake or unexpectedly when emerging from an icy river dip. Rebirth occurs when you become a parent or by having an epiphany.
If bat medicine has found you, surrender, welcome your new self to the world, and allow yourself to grieve the part you left behind. -Brynja Magnusson
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
9 Aq’ab’al
Today we see an interesting progression, all within the trecena of Tz’ikin, the trecena of the new vision. Two days ago, 7 Imox brought us the multitude of possibilities, of dreams, to choose from. Yesterday, on 8 Iq’, we breathed life into those dreams. However, today the dream begins to make a transition into the physical world.
This might not be the day you start a new life, or make a massive change regarding your life path. Nonetheless, it is a solid day to start the ball rolling towards a change which will take effect in the future. –Mark Elmy
9 Aq’ab’al
We are the result of what we have determined in the past, the decisions we have made affect us throughout our life. Have you ever asked yourself: What if I had not done it, if I had decided to do it better? But there is no turning back, you can’t turn time back. Even so, there are ways to harmonize ourselves with the past, to remember our decisions, whether positive or erroneous, which brought us to where we are now. This is the way to take responsibility and awareness of what we have forged. From there we can begin to change, forgive, accept, and define what we really want.
We all want to achieve happiness and we hear that this or that gives it to us, but the truth is we that have to live many of these things to realize who we really are and what we want, the idea is clarity.
Ajaw Aq’ab’al is bringing the knowledge of the past to the present and projecting it into the future. It is a new dawn, a new opportunity, and a new vision. It is the power of transformation that tells us that it is never too late to change, but it is no longer just a matter of thinking about change; the energy of this new cycle is ACTION.
It’s about correcting what holds us back and putting our experience into action to impel us towards the new. Recapitulating is the key; determining the future is the purpose. –Carlos Barrios
