K’uxlajik K’aslik K’ux
(Living the fourfold sacred rhythm)
With the Mayan Sacred Calendar,
we live in alignment with Natural Law
by practicing its guidance.
“Q’anil represents fertility, the origin of the cycles, the beginning. Q’anil represents the changes in our lives; it is a cyclical sign.
Q’anil also represents the four colors of corn. In the ancestral technique of planting corn, the farmer greets each cardinal direction and asks permission from the cosmos. He moves the stick in the direction of the East, West, North, and South, marking the symbol of Q’anil upon the earth ready to receive the seeds. The seeds carry the essence of plants, their genetic code, the origin of all fruits.
In Maya communities, Q’anil is a day for blessing seeds. It is also a good day to start any new processes, companies, or projects. If you have an idea or a plan, it’s time to get started.” –Pablo Sigüenza Ramírez
