The Magical Story Behind the Mayan Cross Calculator Development ✨

I’m delighted to share how this magical tool came into being. It began with one of our own WTWR readers,

Thibaud

—a gifted software engineer who, like me, carries a heart-deep devotion to the mystical journeys of the Mayan wisdom traditions.

A few months ago, I was experimenting with AI, trying to decode the formula that could transform Gregorian dates into the 260-day cycles of the Cholq’ij, in order to build my own cross calculator. The friendly robot’s guidance unfolded like an elegant riddle—a dream for a mathematician, but, for me as a visual artist, a perplexing labyrinth.

At the time, I thought: this is the blueprint I’ll eventually hand off to some future developer—if I’m fortunate enough to find one who understands what I’m trying to do.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Thibaud appeared—like an angel descended from the luminous realms of mathematics and technology!

He reached out after reading one of my pieces about entering my third round of Cholq’ij interpretations. What stirred him to connect was not only the calendar work itself, but also my mention of the Mayan calendar’s links to Atlantis (Tulán to the Maya). I still get chills just thinking of his email.

As it turned out, he read that the very day I launched this Substack was 7 Imox—a day within Thibaud’s birth trecena, Tz’ikin—the Trecena of vision, abundance, and the ability to rise above and see new possibilities.

Thibaud felt that synchronicity calling him, and within just two days, he channeled that soaring eagle energy into building a mockup model of the tool you now see here, fully developed: WTWR’s Mayan Cross Calculator.

We began developing this page on my site a few Trecenas ago, and now, here it is—unwrapped and ready for use 🎉
