Iq’:
Iq’ embodies the primal, life-generating element of air; the breath of life. As the nawal of wind, it symbolizes renewal and purification, carrying messages and energies that inspire transformation and revitalization.
Linked to the respiratory system and the throat, Iq’ emphasizes its role as a teacher of communication. It governs the power of language—spoken, written, or sung—and highlights the profound impact of words in shaping relationships, society, and personal destiny. It inspires eloquence and creativity in expression, offering the gift of meaningful dialogue and constructive ideas. However, Iq‘ also carries the duality of words: their capacity to heal or destroy.
Iq’ brings fresh perspectives and stimulates the imagination, blowing in winds of change that can purify both body and mind. Its essence is reflected in the purity and clarity of glass, a metaphor for an unclouded psyche. It invites introspection into deeply held beliefs and alignment with one’s authentic self. –Diana P.
Today is Jun (1) Iq’, kicking off a new Trecena (13-Day cycle theme) .
1 is birth and beginnings.
Change is as constant as the breath itself. The Trecena of Iq’ teaches the value of fluidity, experimentation, and open-mindedness, encouraging us to sway with life's unpredictable currents with presence, mindfulness and adaptability.
As the winds of Iq’ shift and cleanse our surroundings, bodies, and minds, this cycle invites us to align with its power and movement. Iq’ also supports the clearing of anger, mental disorders, and stagnant energies which can limit our higher expression.
Opportunities will emerge to discover and deepen our capacity for versatility, authentic expression, transformation, and mental strength to navigate life's shifts. This is a time to invoke the fresh winds of renewal to purify our bodies and sharpen our mental clarity. –Diana P.
Iq’ Mesoamerican Mythos [Excerpts]:
"Iq' symbolizes the vital spirit, lightning tempests, and air currents. It symbolizes the cleanliness and purity of glass. It is also the windows in Mayan temples.
These served a dual purpose. The first was to determine what type of wind was blowing based on sound. Giant, vibrating flutes were placed on top of the pyramids, and their music directly influenced those who heard it, altering their energy in a positive way.
The second purpose of the windows, which aimed toward the four cardinal points, was to observe and record equinoxes, solstices, and the transit of important stars such as Venus and the Pleiades.
Iq' is an element and one of the manifestations of Majukutaj, one of the four B'alameb' (Men-Gods) in Mayan mythology. It is the purifier of the body, mind, and spirit. The image is that of great nourishment for the mind.
It is the divine breath that sustains existence, the energy of words and communication." -Carlos Barrios
Hummingbird Spirit Animal:
”Opening the Heart”, “Inspiration and Animation”, “Renewed Hope”, “Living in the Moment”
The hovering movement of Hummingbird is a potent message about being in the moment and enjoying life’s nectar. Overall, Hummingbird as a spirit animal represents flexibility (our ability to accept and implement change), lightheartedness, and joy. Another attribute Hummingbird provides as a Power Animal is flexibility. Don’t be so firm in your thoughts that you miss something slightly outside the box. -Bernadette King
