The Heart of Walking the White Road

Welcome and Maltyox (thank you) for being here! Here’s an animated video guide that visually explains the body of work I share here related to the Mayan Sacred Calendar:

Walking The White Road
offers Daily & Cyclical Energy Forecasts for practical and spiritual self-development, higher knowledge and creative inspiration.

My style of readings:
I curate ‘créme de la crop’ readings and publications sourced from varying Mayan elders, authors, and timekeepers, giving you a well rounded summary of the energy of each day and 13 day cycle. I also include interpretations of each day’s animal guardians–a rare addition to these readings.

What is the Cholq’ij Mayan Sacred Calendar?

In short, the Cholq'ij is the sacred spiritual calendar of the Mayan people, composed of 260 days divided into 13 tones of 20 nawales (20 x 13 = 260).

1 Cholq’ij Ritual Cycle = 260 Days

The Cholq'ij is the sacred spiritual calendar of the Mayan People and governs the life and development of humanity. It is not astrology, it is a dimensional-energy count of days.

"The Cholq’ij is mathematically perfect; changes have never been and never will be made to it. Its precision is the result of centuries of observation and study by great Mayan astronomers, astrologers, mathematicians, and wise men.

It is the perfect instrument for understanding our purpose in the marvel that is life. It is the best gift our Grandfathers could have left us.
– Don Pascual (Mayan Mam Sage)

Here, you too can Walk The White Road (Saq’ Be) through the Mayan Sacred Calendar.

You can rely on a brief message in your inbox daily to self-reflect with the energy of each day and Trecena (13 day cycle) according to the precise, mathematical time-keeping system of Mayan Cosmology.

Each read should be about 7-8 minutes.

No matter your religion, faith, creed or ethnicity, this ancient science is available and accessible to anyone. The Cholq’ij doesn’t conflict with any religion or faith as this science and practice is not dogmatic in any way, this is a sacred science based on Nature – natural law and the rhythmic development of human consciousness.

And, it is my pleasure to share it with you!

About Diana Paez
I am a student of Mayan Spirituality since 2020. You can read my full story with this path here.

My Other Work & Passions
I co-founded WARMI: a Guayusa tea company with my mom to give back to the indigenous guardians of our country, Ecuador. I left coffee long ago. Guayusa replaced it, enhanced my life in many ways, and now this Amazonian brew is a significant part of my daily writing rituals.

For over 15 years, I’ve taken the role of a graphic designer, fusing multi-cultural cosmology with branding design. Although I’m now transitioning out of this career, you can check out my design portfolio here: The Well Multimedia.

What’s Your Mayan Birthday?
My 'face of the sun' is Kajib (4) N'oj and this force moves through my work as a thinker, wisdom-seeker, visual artist, content creator and creative writer.

I was told by my first teacher, Mark Elmy, that my nawal, 4 No’j helps me transform very large concepts, solutions, and ideas into practical and material form.

My second teacher reminds me that the shadow aspect of it is that I can be very ‘mental’ and ‘rigid’. Both true!

You can calculate your own Nima Q’ij (face of the sun) here. You only need to know your birthdate:

This screenshot is taken from the site of a team of awesome human beings (LivingMayaCards.com) that created really sweet oracle cards for the Chol’qij. I use them every day!

The Mayan Sacred Calendar is a symphony of cycles within cycles. The 260 day Tzolk'in / Cholq’ij is interwoven with the solar year, and may be divided into 20 periods of 13 days, commonly known by the Spanish term "Trecenas" – the essential component of what we may call "living the calendar." Each Trecena cycle may be regarded as a particular quantum of energy, and energy that travels in a wave-like motion.

The Cholq’ij is a calendar of 260 days or energies: the 20 days in the Mayan month, or winal, multiplied by the 13 days of the week (20 x 13 =260).

The winal (20-day month) arises from the convergence of the 10 cosmic energy currents and 10 telluric energy currents. It is also related to the 10 fingers of our hands, which are connected to the cosmos, together with our 10 toes, which are connected to Mother Earth.

The trecena (13 days of the week) arise from the 13 main joints in the human body: two at the ankles, two at the knees, two at the hips, two at the shoulders, two at the elbows, two at the wrist, and one at the neck.

Each of the 20 nawales or days, in the Cholq’ij is preceded by a number between 1 and 13, creating a calendar of 260 days. Once the calendar cycle ends, it repeats again without interruption. It is a dimensional-energy calendar, not an astronomical calendar.
