11 Ajmaq brings an essence of forgiveness and acceptance. This is not a simple or straightforward forgiveness, this is coming at us from all directions. It encourages us to redeem ourselves, to accept ourselves and others for exactly who we are. -Mark Elmy

Ajmaq: The energy of Ajmaq embodies our connection to the long history of life through evolution, through the millions of years that have elapsed and blessed our planet with the diversity of life we see today, and the sanctity of consciousness, free will, and love. Ajmaq also represents forgiveness, pardon, sin, and pleasure. It is the nawal of all faults and vices. But it also symbolizes gifts and Mother Earth, and is the nawal of the Earth itself. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
Ajmaq—the nawal of discord, clarity, and reconciliation—meets the dynamic, adjusting force of Power 11 today. As 11 stirs change, separation, and potential unpredictability, Ajmaq works to clear the fog of perception. This is a day to face life’s shifts with curiosity and mindful acceptance, allowing clarity, harmony, and inner peace to emerge from each experience.
As the metamorphic Kame Trecena nears its close, 11 Ajmaq highlights the significance of introspection and inner order amid life’s constant changes. Ajmaq, uniting wisdom (Aj) with perceptual fog (Maq), invites us to examine attachments and mindsets that cloud our connection to truth and presence in the moment. Focusing on errors or setbacks, holding onto entrenched beliefs, or dwelling in emotional burdens can easily unground us, distorting our perception of reality. In this process, 11 encourages healthy detachment and thoughtful adjustments.
Both Kame’s teachings and today’s bee medicine remind us of a greater intelligence at work, where each bee serves a purpose beyond itself. Amid unpredictability and challenge, we may forget that our actions, emotions, and experiences nourish not only individual but shared experience and a greater collective awareness. Ajmaq’s compassion encourages us to serve this whole with deeper presence.
This day reminds us that much of life’s testing ground and opportunities for mastery lie in relationships. 11 Ajmaq invites us to reflect on what our relational struggles reveal about ourselves, the clarity and harmony gained through reconciliation, and the personal or familial histories ready to be released. By practicing self-reconciliation, we open our hearts to more compassionate relating, clear generational attachments, and discover our essence as we navigate life’s lessons with greater ease and balance.

Bee Spirit Animal:
In the Mayan K'iche and Yucatec cultures, the bee spirit animal, particularly the melipona bee (known as Xunán Kab or "lady bee"), holds significant spiritual and practical importance. Revered for its unique qualities—such as being stingless and its vital role in pollination—the melipona bee symbolizes community, cooperation, and the nurturing aspects of nature.
This connection highlights the bees' role not only in agriculture but also in spiritual practices, where their honey was used in rituals and as a source of healing. By embracing the qualities of the bee, we can navigate daily challenges with renewed purpose and a stronger connection to our community.
The bee spirit animal can be called upon as a powerful guide particularly when facing challenges that require teamwork, communication, and perseverance. In moments of feeling overwhelmed or stagnant, the bee can inspire you to reassess your responsibilities and find balance.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
11 Ajmaq
We are here on Earth to embrace and enjoy our humanity, all aspects of life. Of course, we aspire to great things and to be “good” people. However, even when we try to do the right thing, sometimes it ends up causing problems for ourselves or others. Sometimes we also do sneaky things. They are not in our best interests or those of the people around us. We hope that we won’t get found out. We get seduced by the sensual and fall off our path. This is all a part of our humanity. It is our greatest strength and our greatest weakness. If we make the journey without ever making a mistake, we miss out on the experiences for which we started the journey. These experiences help us to grow, but we also need to know when the experience is done.
We need to understand how to keep the lesson and release the emotional attachment to the experience. Guilt, shame, and blame can act as signposts, reminding us of the consequences of our actions. They were markers along the way, pointing out the direction of our journey and how we move towards our destination. The signpost is a useful guide, but if we choose to carry it on our back, it will burden us and slow us down.
As we move through this trecena of Kame, this period of spiritual transformation, we have to rid ourselves of the excess baggage of guilt or blame. We can do this through the practice of forgiveness. –Mark Elmy
11 Ajmaq
If we wish to find harmony in our environment and our relationships, we must first cultivate our inner harmony, for if we judge ourselves harshly, it will also be difficult to practice empathy and respect toward others.Julajuj Ajmaq invites us to know ourselves, to experience ourselves, to turn inward, and to remember who we are. One of the teachings that emerges from the energetic confluence of this day is to open our minds, our vision, and our hearts to see beyond the obvious, to connect with the whole, and to receive the guidance of our ancestors.
The power of this day reminds us that, to elevate our growth, it is also necessary to be willing to immerse ourselves deeply in our being. –Denise Barrios
