No’j turns knowledge and experience into wisdom. It is the connection between the Universal Cosmic Mind and the human mind–intellect, knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual learning. It also governs education, the humanities, and psychology.
No’j is the guide to life as long as all experience and knowledge are imparted in wisdom. People have good ideas but aren’t wise and therefore need to meet as council in order to share them, develop theories, and ask Ajaw for wisdom. The Elders meet as a council under the protection of No’j. –Carlos Barrios
Diana’s Observations:
Today’s nawal of the mind, thought, and knowledge moves with Power 11’s rearranging influence. No’j embodies criteria, ideas, and reason, while 11 tests their adequacy and efficiency. 11 No’j can feel like a pressure valve releasing facts and reasoning—a fountain of thoughts dispersing in every direction.
Under the balancing influence of the Kej Trecena, this day teaches that equilibrium begins with the stillness of the analytical mind, using reasoning as a tool rather than a guiding force. From conscious observation, we can examine and organize our thoughts, sharpening discernment between useful ideas and superfluous noise that may not serve our plans or future projections.
11 No’j asks how well we control our attention. Its mental reordering qualities invite us to notice what constantly penetrates our thinking and how this may manifest into reality. At its essence, it acts as a mental decoder—deconstructing conditioned thought patterns and reevaluating both perception and understanding.
No’j guides through nobility, patience, prudence, and above all, supreme love. 11 encourages us to sift through areas of the mind misaligned with these qualities and ultimately disempowering our true nature. 11 No’j is a day to use imagination and creative thinking to develop plans and wisdom that serve a higher purpose, reminding us that our attention is our most precious resource.

Woodpecker Spirit Animal:
Woodpecker spirit guides us to look beneath the surface of our thoughts and surroundings to uncover hidden truths and resources. It encourages us to be resourceful and attentive, reminding us that persistence and focused effort can reveal what sustains us physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In the Mayan tradition, the Woodpecker is connected to the sacred rhythm of life, much like the heartbeat or the drumbeat in ceremonies. Its steady tapping represents a call to listen deeply—to the messages from within ourselves and from the world around us.
This spirit animal invites us to slow down and attune to the subtle signals that guide our path, cultivating patience and clarity in our decision-making and creative processes.
The Woodpecker also embodies protection and nurturing, urging us to safeguard our loved ones and community with care and vigilance. It teaches us to balance determination with gentleness, using our strength to support others while maintaining our own focus on meaningful goals.
This dual role of protector and persistent seeker highlights the Woodpecker’s wisdom in harmonizing action with compassion.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
11 No’j
This is a day for “those free-thinking types.” It may be a day with a myriad of genius ideas, although finding a train of thought to follow may be challenging. Most days which carry the number 11 can be a little confusing to say the least. The strong energy of the 11, combined with its lack of true direction, can lead to situations where you don’t really know where you are, or where you are going, although you are sure you are in the right place.
The energy of the nawal No’j may bring some stability to this through its logic. It may be a day of many thoughts and ideas which seem to form some kind of cohesive structure from a certain point of view.
You may need to patiently observe your thoughts until the end of the day in order to understand where the trail is leading. In fact, today you might come up with the rather left-field thoughts that were the missing pieces of your master plan. –Mark Elmy
11 No’j
The calendars and energies offer us a space for self-discovery, but the idea is to evolve through experience, to be able to connect with all the dimensions of our being, avoiding getting stuck in one learning and thus becoming fragmented by giving power only to a part of us.In these days in which we have been reflecting on balance, the day of Julajuj [11] No’j brought me to think that we have given too much space to the intellect. As humanity, we are stuck in material and mental evolution to such an extent that even love is often filtered by the rational mind.
The invitation today is to observe from what source we connect with life and with each other. Is it only from the mental plane? –Denise Barrios
✍🏼 Journal Prompts of the Day:
Am I using reasoning as a tool to express my love and creativity, or am I letting it control me?
Which thoughts patterns limit me, and how can I rethink them?
Where is my attention focused, and does it serve my higher purpose?

Today, definitely was a slow down day for me. The message was very clear, better balance in my life and the need for self love was great. I worked on my heart chakra and the brain with my tuning forks. I realized that I have been using logic more than listening to the heart. I discovered I had blockages there, which needed to be cleared in order for me to truly be clear and be of service. Afterwards, I was able to have a great conversation with my beloved Julia and I was able to create a safe container for her to explore her thoughts without me interrupting or imposing, which is great growth for me. Creating a space where one is free to share and explore their thoughts without interruptions and it all started with me clearing the heart and working on myself.
