Kawoq Glyph: The group of spheres represents the members of a family and a group of families that belong to a community. The crosshatching means assistance or collaboration.
Kawoq is family, meetings, group, society, community, country, and continent–anything that can be grouped. It means the strength of unity, greater consciousness, the unfolding of the cosmic plan, growth, fertility.
It is the energy for abundance, in both the material and spiritual sense. It is the energy that brings good harvests. Kawoq symbolizes the woman or the wife and the sacred spiritual staff. It is individuals seen as a unit, and the assumption of an imaginary leadership role. –Carlos Barrios
Diana’s Observations:
Kawoq, the nawal of home, society, difficulties, and shared goals, is amplified today by Power 12, which emphasizes grouping, networking, and gathering. At its best, Kawoq’s unifying force expands consciousness, yields abundant harvests, and secures collective well-being. As the Q’anil Trecena nears completion, 12 Kawoq begins to birth the results of our recent efforts–revealing where we’ve focused our energy.
Today’s feminine, cleansing, and home-centered influence draws attention to group and family dynamics. 12 Kawoq highlights how our personal missions and aspirations are deeply connected to the well-being and growth of those around us. It bears the fruit of collective action, showing how we co-create our realities together, for better or worse.
Individually, this day encourages both integration and versatility. Gathering and synthesizing our resources, relationships, experiences, and projects can guide us toward fruition or support decisive, regenerative choices. 12 Kawoq’s lightning can illuminate glimpses of our personal power as it evolves in relation to others, reminding us of the strength found in diversity and the mysterious ways different ideas and goals unite to create new realities.
Ultimately, this day activates our heart center, revealing empathy and interconnectedness as fertilizers that nourish collective success. As the Q’anil Trecena nears its culmination, insights from our relationships and challenges may reveal surprise opportunities or important decisions that lead to mutual harvests.

Turtle Spirit Animal:
If Turtle had a mantra, it would be “one small step at a time.”
This Spirit Animal truly lives in the moment – taking one after another with simple, innocent acceptance. This is a powerful lesson for humans who rush about at unhealthy speeds, often missing the mystical gem right in front of them, in the here and now.
When Turtle comes to you as a Spirit Animal, it bears the message of staying true to your path and being at peace with your choices. Turtle helps your transformation into a fully actualized spiritual being living in the Earth plane. Be gentle with yourself. -Bernadette King
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
12 Kawoq
The day 12 Kawoq may again prove to be a rather intense day. Whilst Kawoq can represent the midwife, it can also represent the birth process. This birth process can be easy, if we allow it to be, or painful if we resist.
This is the penultimate day of the trecena of ripening, and some would say the penultimate day of a cycle of 260 days.Tomorrow, 13 Ajpu, can be seen as the rebirth of the Sun from the spirit world, a day that the final ripening has been preparing us for. It is today, 12 Kawoq, that assists this day to come forward.
As it is such an important day that is being birthed, it is one of the most experienced of midwives which is called upon. Here the analogy is that of bringing together all of your life experience in order to birth into being your own true ripeness.
This birth process is about bringing the new into the world, including a “new you.” It can be seen as a re-birthing process, and this time around it is hugely powerful.
The energy of the day is conducive to clear the obstructions and allow your blossoming, your new growth to occur. –Mark Elmy
12 Kawoq
Kab’lajuj [12] Kawoq reminds us we did not come here to hoard or to survive from a place of scarcity, but to recognize ourselves as part of a whole, where what is essential has always been available to us all.Today the energies speak of community and our collective nature. They remind us that dignity must be part of every life. They invite us to understand that the injustice others face is not separate from us — even when we do not always see it, it is part of the reality we all share.
And if everything is connected, if each of us has something unique to offer, then we can also trust that our gifts and talents, brought together, carry the change and healing we want to see in the world, the justice and dignity every being deserves.
Let us remember that true wealth is not found in what we possess, but in what we share. From our individual freedom and healing, we grow collective freedom and healing. And in caring for one another, life becomes truly abundant and sacred. –Denise Barrios
