2 Aq'ab'al: Opposites Emerge, Clarity in Dialogue

Aq’ab’al acts as a bridge between polarities, including the logical and artistic, which can give rise to great creativity. Today this natural tendency is amplified by the energy of the number 2, which also relates to polarities. This could give rise to a day when polarities are emphasized. –Mark Elmy

Aq’ab’al symbolizes both darkness and dawn, those magical times of the day when Night cedes to Day and Day gives way to Night.
These are periods of transition, of grace, of potential–and polarity, which Aq’ab’al naturally embodies. It is light and dark, heat and cold, opposing sides and opposite energies.
Aq’ab’al embodies the essence of the love between a man and a woman, of marriage, romance and all matters of physical, spiritual, and emotional love. It also signifies harmony, truth, hope and solemnity; awakening and enchantment; mystery and devotion.
It is the nawal of clarity and light, a force of renewal, and helps us gain illumination into the issues that impact our lives. –Brigitte Rasine
Diana’s Observations:
Today’s nawal of polarity is further contrasted by the Power 2’s dual qualities. On one hand, 2 Aq’ab’al can polarize, separate, and surface doubt and hesitancy. On the other, this energy can catalyze and reveal the beginning stages of profound change, clarity, and renewal, potentiated by Aq’ab’al and the overarching Trecena of Iq’.
This day highlights partnerships, matrimony, and the couple, with the number 2 potentially introducing difficulties, doubt, and confusion. Yet, it also offers opportunities for purification as complementary ideas emerge and take shape between two minds.
The splitting essence of 2 reminds us of the inevitable nature of duality – some days we enjoy clear skies, while others are clouded by thunder and lightning. Aq’ab’al teaches us about our light and shadow aspects, as well as the seen and unseen. With our intuitive “night vision” activated by Aq’ab’al, combined with Iq’s forceful winds of change, this day carries great potential to reveal an important step in bringing light to something hidden, especially in relationships.
As Iq’s winds of change sweep in, Aq’ab’al’s gentle invitation to our inner light illuminates our hearts, creating a day ripe for honest communication. Here, constructive words can dissolve doubt and harmonize with the radiant clarity of truth.
This process can purify and renew our understanding of polarity, cultivating diplomacy and mediation in our interactions. As our inner senses are sharpened and authentic dialogue unfolds, Iq’s promise of revitalizing change becomes a tangible reality.
Observations by Mayan Spiritual Guides:
2 Aq’ab’al
This could be a highly polarized day, a day of extremes. It may show us the lightest light and the darkest dark. Sometimes we must reach these places to find new concepts. The day 2 Aq’ab’al can show you the positive and negative aspects of a potential new endeavor, its strengths and weaknesses. It is a day to bring your dreams closer to reality, particularly if they relate to a relationship.
Differences are particularly highlighted and become as clear as night or day. This may lead to some rather stark truths becoming very obvious.
Yet possibly the Aq’ab’al energy is the one which helps us to understand how to join two polarities. Thus, we can marry them together to create a bright future. Another quality of the number 2 is that of self sacrifice, which suggests that in order to create this union, a little sacrifice may be required on each side. –Mark Elmy
2 Aq’ab’al
This Ch’umil connects us to the eternal present, it is the energy that opens with each dawn a new opportunity to live, to do, and to transform. The number Keb’ (2) holds the tools and the power that allow us to reach harmony, balance, and union in every aspect that forms part of us.Today Aq’ab’al helps us to integrate the wisdom we obtained from our past, but it also reminds us at the same time that we should not anchor ourselves to it, that the magic lies in feeling the present moment, in living this day to the fullest.
Let us be completely present so that we can nourish ourselves with the wisdom that this day brings us, let us begin now making the changes we want to see in our lives, Aq’ab’al and Iq’ provide us with the power to reinvent ourselves. –Denise Barrios
Bat Spirit Animal
“Death and Birth”, “Potential”, “Epiphany”, “Courage to Face the Dark”
Bat connotes both death and birth together, which are among our most profoundly mystical concepts. It is one of the great shamanic initiation rights to understand the death and birth principal.
So deeply does it need to be understood that it is learned either through ceremonial ritual or unexpected authentic near-death experiences. But just because bat carries an ostensibly extreme implication does not mean that if you receive bat medicine you are in for such a harsh experience.
Rebirth happens gently every morning when you wake or unexpectedly when emerging from an icy river dip. Rebirth occurs when you become a parent or by having an epiphany.
If bat medicine has found you, surrender, welcome your new self to the world, and allow yourself to grieve the part you left behind. -Brynja Magnusson
