I’x Glyph: At a glance, the glyph of I’x appears to show a pair of eyes above a mouth framed by bangs, but this is a misconception. The circles are the markings of the jaguar’s skin. The three dots carry deeper meaning: they point to the constellation of Orion, to the three stones of creation. One of these stones, according to ancient myth, was placed by the jaguar itself —the Jaguar Throne Stone, one of the stars in Orion’s belt.
It speaks of celestial and cosmic forces, the very powers of creation. What matters most is that the glyph reveals the great power of the Creator, the Mother-Father of Life, bringing existence into being.
I’x: The mythic Jaguar carries the power of Mother Earth: the power to create and to sustain the entire universe. All of this belongs to I’x, which is also deeply tied to the feminine. In K’iche’, the word I’x functions as a particle that marks the feminine when joined with others.
They speak of the jaguar-woman, especially in pregnancy: like the jaguar, she brings forth life from the cavern within her. The uterus is understood as the original cavern, where a human being is formed approximately 260 days—the span of the sacred calendar itself. This is why the nawal I’x is so closely linked to ancient creation myths: it expresses the feminine aspect of the Creator and Former. –Adapted from Tat Juan Carlos Romera
5 I’x:
5 I’x brings creative power into contact with the earth. Job’ is the movement that establishes — memory becoming matter, the moment something takes form, a foundation set. I’x is the jaguar, Mother Earth’s own fertility — the cavern of the womb where anything, a child, a piece of work, a whole new reality, is gestated into being. Before we build, the day asks us to feel the power we’re building with.
Where we feel impotent — infertile, unable to materialize — is often because we’ve mistaken a belief for the truth of our own capacity, a quality the Tz’i Trecena supports us in finding. Today, I’x reminds us that this power was never earned; it was granted by nature itself, the way foliage returns after winter’s barrenness without asking permission. Once that birth-given power is felt, and creative will is embodied, Job’ can do its part precisely: lay the foundation, build the structure strong enough to hold what wants to be born through us. –Diana P.
Jaguar Spirit Animal:
The Jaguar’s teaching is to connect you with your innate power. If you feel helpless or vulnerable, feel fearful and scared, Jaguar is a brilliant spirit animal to work with. When you feel powerless, you operate on a sense of struggle and avoid that which is the root of you disempowering yourself on a subconscious level, like blockages from childhood traumas. This doesn’t mean, you don’t have any power, it means, you are not allowing yourself to embrace your power.
Jaguars have large paws and a broad head with very strong jaws. They often kill their prey by piercing the skull with one quick bite. This animal is the symbol of power, ferocity and valor, and thus the embodiment of aggressiveness. This does not mean for you to steamroll everyone in your path, but rather to have a clearer vision and the courage to face yourself, your fears, and do shadow work. Jaguar lends you the true sight, not only to see in the dark but also into the dark parts of your and others’ hearts.
Jaguar is also representative of your hidden desires, those you do not allow yourself to openly acknowledge for fear of rejection from society, family, your partner and the like. When you become one with the spirit of Jaguar, you are able to live your life free from any societal rules and restrictions and you are willing and able to go after that which you truly desire. In this way, the spirit of Jaguar supports you in becoming a more authentic version of yourself. –Tirza Schaefer
5 I’x Prayer
Sacred Job' I'x, principle of empowerment, today I ask to remember that my power is not something to seek — it's already mine, only waiting to be executed.
Connect me to the intelligence of nature, to the divine power that lives within and all around me, so I can materialize my gifts. Strip away the overlays of family, culture, and history, and return me to my original blueprint. Let me stand in the power I already carry, and allow it to create boldly.
✍🏼 Contemplation:
What power have I been waiting to earn that is already mine?
What wants to be built on the foundation of that power today?

Wow! This feels sooooo spot on! Thank you Diana!!!🙏🙏🙏
